Kristen Wiig points a knife at you in the Steve Buscemi's SNL Monologue

Monologue

Steve Buscemi
Abby Elliott ... Roz
Bill Hader ... Tex
Bobby Moynihan ... guy
Nasim Pedrad ... grandma
Jay Pharoah ... judge
Andy Samberg ... guy
Kenan Thompson ... Chance
Kristen Wiig ... girl

Steve, who has flourished as the leading man in "Boardwalk Empire," gives advice to actors who always play auxiliary characters.

Hahahaha. Is it just me, or does that make you want to see Kristen Wiig in that role too?

Love the cut shirt and dirty makeup!

Enjoy!

Kristen Wiig announces the Bloomberg SNL Cold Open

Cold Opening - A Message From The Mayor

Fred Armisen ... Mike Bloomberg
Kristen Wiig ... announcer (voice)

Kristen Wiig in Birthing Seminar (SNL)

Sketch - Birthing Seminar

Tina Fey ... mother
Maya Rudolph ... Leilani
Vanessa Bayer ... instructor
Abby Elliott ... mother
Bill Hader ... Victor
Bobby Moynihan ... husband
Nasim Pedrad ... narrator (voice)
Jason Sudeikis ... husband
Kenan Thompson ... Jazarus
Kristen Wiig ... Indica

A birthing video teaches expectant parents a lesson.

I find it interesting that Maya Rudolph has been on SNL 7 times after she left, and she hasn't hosted yet (she hasn't achieved a starring role in a movie or TV show that would make sense for hosting). She's obviously well liked and has solid relationships. That's also the case for films, as it seems that her friends (such as Kristen Wiig in Bridesmaids and Jorma and Will Forte in MacGruber) hire her to work with her.

Kristen and Maya are pretty disturbing in this video that Tina and Bobby watch. Definitely amusing and a good use of pregnant Tina and Maya.

Any thoughts on this skit?

Enjoy!

Kristen Wiig is Mindy Gracin in Secret Word (Justin Timberlake)

Gameshow - Secret Word

Justin Timberlake ... The Mysterious Crandell
Abby Elliott ... contestant
Bill Hader ... Lyle Round
Steve Higgins ... announcer (voice)
Bobby Moynihan ... Tavi
Kristen Wiig ... Mindy Gracin

It's the game show that the stars play. Just keep the secret word a secret!

Kristen was only in two skits this week, and this was the only regular character she did.

The other skit (Liquorville), is a regular for Justin Timbelake (his dancing mascot), that he started with Chris Parnell in 2003, but it's not online. He competed with Will Forte in 2006 and 2009. This time he competed with Kristen Wiig and Lady Gaga.

I'm not 100% sure why they keep doing this Secret Word skit (this is the 5th time and the 3rd time this season). My guess is that the hosts like the opportunity to play old 60s characters. But even so, there's got to be a better way to do that.

Regardless, it's got funny moments; it's just hard to sustain the humor throughout the whole skit.

What do you think?

Enjoy!

Kristen Wiig in Googie Rene SNL skit

Googie Rene's Slightly Damaged Prom Wear Barn

Great deals on formal wear that's been around the block.

This is Kenan's third go at this character. Aren't all Kenan's characters the same?

Kristen does a great job here as the awkward girl.

Enjoy!

Kristen Wiig is a singing fetus in the Tina Fey SNL Monologue

Monologue

Tina Fey
Maya Rudolph
Taran Killam ... doctor
Kenan Thompson ... baby
Kristen Wiig ... baby

Tina and Maya open with a song to their unborn babies.

Hahahaha. Kristen loans her vocal chords as Tina Fey's singing fetus.

As a bonus, here's Tina Fey getting messed with by Bill Hader in "Great Women Writers":

That's strange. I don't have that on record as playing on the show. Is this from the dress rehearsal?

Enjoy!

Kristen Wiig is Michele Bachmann in GOP Debate

Show - GOP 2012 Undeclared Candidates Debate

Tina Fey ... Sarah Palin
Darrell Hammond ... Donald Trump
Bill Hader ... Shepard Smith
Steve Higgins ... announcer (voice)
Bobby Moynihan ... Newt Gingrich
Jason Sudeikis ... Mitt Romney
Kenan Thompson ... Jimmy McMillan
Kristen Wiig ... Michele Bachmann

A Republican debate with Sarah Palin, Donald Trump and other undeclared 2012 candidates.

Kristen is pretty funny as a creepy Michele.

This is Kristen's third appearance as Michele.

Wow, this was awesome! Tina, Kristen, and Darrell were hilarious here, with Kenan, Bobby, and Bill supporting well!

Enjoy!

Kristen Wiig is a Stripper in the Bongo's Clown Room (SNL)

Sketch - Bongo's Clown Room

Helen Mirren ... Tanya
Dave Grohl ... Tony
Ken Aymong ... customer
Abby Elliott ... Phoenix
Nasim Pedrad ... Georgia
Jason Sudeikis ... Tommy
Kristen Wiig ... Lace

After winning a cool $9,200 on a scratch-off, it's DJ Tom's last shift working at Bongo's Clown Room. Time for greener pastures.

Kristen comes out at 3:47.

Not a lot of stripping going on, but I guess that's kind of the point.

Enjoy!

Kristen Wiig in Frankenstein (SNL)

Sketch - Mary Shelley

Helen Mirren ... Mary Shelley
Fred Armisen ... Frank Stein
Paul Brittain ... Igor
Bill Hader ... guest
Bill Hader ... announcer (voice)
Bobby Moynihan ... guest
Jason Sudeikis ... guest
Kristen Wiig ... guest

While friends gather to celebrate Mary Shelley's novel, 'Frankenstein,' her landlord shows up and has some questions.

Hahahaha. Good writing.

Enjoy!

Kristen Wiig feels Helen Miren's magical bosom (SNL Digital Short)

Hahahaha.

Nasim Pedrad goes to a special place after Helen Mirren allows her to touch her breasts.

Film - SNL Digital Short: Helen Mirren's Magical Bosom

Helen Mirren
Dave Grohl
Bobby Moynihan ... dancing bee
Nasim Pedrad
Andy Samberg ... saint
Kristen Wiig

Wow. I think my favorite part of this was actually Bobby Moynihan who just brought the bee costume back! SNL did the bees their first season in 75, but it was John Belushi who really pushed and owned the bee movement.

Kristen comes in for a joke at the end.

Enjoy!

Kristen Wiig in ESPN Classics (Tom Hanks, SNL)

From the Elton John episode this week (the only skit without Elton in it).

As usual, Kristen plays a different athlete in every "episode" of this skit.

This classic track and field event, featuring Carmela St. Knix, is sponsored by KY Jelly.

Show - KY Jelly Ladies Shot Put Championship 1985

Carmelo Anthony ... Carmela St. Knix
Tom Hanks ... Steve Stink
Will Forte ... Greg Stink
Steve Higgins ... announcer (voice)
Jason Sudeikis ... Pete Twinkle
Kristen Wiig ... Charlotte Ft. Worth

Will Forte comes back to SNL to continue this skit for the sixth time. Tom Hanks comes in as Will's brother.

The audience was so entertained by Tom Hanks and the skit that they were celebrating it a little early before the skit ended.

This is an unusual but funny series of skits. This episode definitely kept it fresh and funny.

Enjoy!

Kristen Wiig in Knights of the Realm (SNL)

It seems as though Kristen's accent gets an unplanned laugh after the first line.

When a dragon attacks London, England's most recognizable knights devise a plan to stop it.

Sketch - Knights of the Realm

Elton John
Tom Hanks ... Michael Caine
Fred Armisen ... Ringo Starr
Paul Brittain ... Barnaby Xavier St. Hidgens III
Bill Hader ... Richard Branson
Taran Killam ... Ian McKellen
Seth Meyers ... announcer (voice)
Bobby Moynihan ... shopkeeper
Andy Samberg ... Bono
Kenan Thompson ... Sir Mix-A-Lot
Kristen Wiig ... Diedre

Hahahaha.

This is Tom Hanks' first attempt at Michael Caine. Caine has also had impressions done twice by Phil Hartman and once by Seth Meyers. Ringo Starr was also played by Jon Lovitz (3 times). Bill Hader is the only one on SNL who has played Richard Branson (3 times). Taran holds the first and only SNL impression of Ian McKellan. Kenan is the only SNLer to do Sir Mix-a-lot, and this is his second time (who can forget Sir Mix-a-lot's Photo Shop?).

This is Andy's first attempt at Bono. Bono has also been played by Alec Baldwin (once), Adam Sandler (twice), Chris Kattan (twice), and Colin Farrell (once).

Enjoy!

Kristen Wiig can't get Elton John to notice her (Cowboy from the Future, SNL)

A cowboy from the future finds himself very out of place in an old west saloon.

Sketch Cowboy
Elton John ... Bruce
Bill Hader ... bartender
Taran Killam ... cowboy
Bobby Moynihan ... cowboy
Jason Sudeikis ... cowboy
Kristen Wiig ... Crystal

Hahahaha. I don't know what to say. It was interesting. I thought this was going to take a poke at Cowboys and Aliens, but I guess not.

Enjoy!

Kristen Wiig is Dooneese on Lawrence Welk (Elton John, SNL)

The Finger Lake Sisters, with Dooneese, team up with Francis Lynn March is back to sing about their love for the spring season.

Cold Opening - The Lawrence Welk Show
Elton John ... Frances Lynn Mulge
Fred Armisen ... Lawrence Welk
Vanessa Bayer ... Toni
Abby Elliott ... Shirley
Nasim Pedrad ... Nancy
Kristen Wiig ... Dooneese

Kristen had talked to Jimmy about this character in her last interview with him. The forehead and hands weren't something they thought much about and the makeup crew ran with it.

Hilarious, as always. This is Kristen's fifth appearance as Dooneese. The sisters have NEVER been the exact same ones...
10.04.2008
Anne Hathaway ... Janice
Amy Poehler ... Holly
Casey Wilson ... Nora
05.16.2009
Will Ferrell ... Ted Netters
Abby Elliott ... sister
Michaela Watkins ... sister
Casey Wilson ... Nora
12.19.2009
James Franco ... Rico Garlanda
Abby Elliott ... Shirley
Nasim Pedrad ... Nancy
Jenny Slate ... Rhonda
05.08.2010
Betty White ... mother
Amy Poehler ... Janice
Ana Gasteyer ... Clara
Maya Rudolph ... Peggy
Molly Shannon ... Jugglette
Rachel Dratch ... Jugglette
Tina Fey ... Jugglette
Will Forte ... Gary Corndeensen
04.02.2011
Elton John ... Frances Lynn Mulge
Vanessa Bayer ... Toni
Abby Elliott ... Shirley
Nasim Pedrad ... Nancy

This is Abby's third appearance as the sister Shirley, Nasim's second appearance as Nancy, and Vanessa's first appearance.

Interestingly, the first two appearances of the skit were after the monologue (Anne Hathaway & Will Ferrell episodes). That's where they put the #1 skits, so obviously the skits must have done well in read throughs and the dress rehearsal.

Then the last three appearances of the skit were cold openings (James Franco, Betty White, and Elton John episodes). So the skit is the only current, recurring skit on SNL that gets in the cold opening when it's on. This basically means it's the best recurring skit on SNL right now (combination of funniest and most popular).

Enjoy!

Elton hosts an all-new SNL Saturday April 2.

Some good gags from Kristen.

Enjoy!

Kristen Wiig in Titanic skit (SNL)

Sketch - Titanic

Zach Galifianakis ... Edward Smith
Vanessa Bayer ... passenger
Abby Elliott ... passenger
Bill Hader ... passenger
Steve Higgins ... announcer (voice)
Bobby Moynihan ... passenger
Nasim Pedrad ... passenger
Kristen Wiig ... passenger

One of the lifeboats becomes testy after it's discovered some men snuck on in disguise.

Amusing, but it's only one joke. You can see why they played it last in the episode... just in case it needed to get cut due to timing, then no big deal.

Enjoy!

Friday, March 18, 2011

Kristen Wiig in Corn Syrup Producers of America (SNL)

Commercial - Corn Syrup Producers of America

Abby Elliott ... announcer (voice)
Bobby Moynihan ... daughter
Nasim Pedrad ... mother

Hahahaha. Kristen gets told!

Kristen Wiig in Canadian Celebrity Scoop (SNL)

Canadian Show - Celebrity Scoop

Zach Galifianakis ... Bernard
Fred Armisen ... Thomas
Bill Hader ... Gil LaForge
Kristen Wiig ... Edna Leduc

Entertainment gossip is topical in Canada, but their approach to reporting it is much different than U.S. shows.

Canadian humor. Classic. It made Rick Moranis famous. I think they'll do this one again.

Enjoy!
